Pirate-themed adventures, treasures, and treats await those brave enough to drop anchor at DMEA’s Annual Meeting on June 6, 2024

Thursday, May 15, 2024 – Avast ye DMEA members! It's time to don your sea legs and set sail on the high seas for a night filled with local bounty, lost treasures, and good grub at Delta-Montrose Electric Association's (DMEA) upcoming Annual Meeting Thursday, June 6, 4:30 – 8:00 p.m. at the Columbine Middle School (610 York Street, Montrose, CO).

"I won't reveal all our secrets, but rest assured, our Annual Meeting will entertain the whole family as we celebrate the local treasures and treats our communities have to offer. It will also be the conclusion of our 2024 Board of Directors election. Electing the individuals who represent you on DMEA’s Board of Directors is a benefit unique to cooperative membership, and I encourage everyone to exercise their right to vote," said Jack Johnston, DMEA Chief Executive Officer.

DMEA's 2024 Annual Meeting opens at 4:30 p.m. for member registration and voting. Online ballots have already opened on SmartHub and mail-in ballots were sent to eligible DMEA voters on May 3. Members can cast their votes online, return their mail-in ballot, drop off a completed ballot at their local DMEA office until Wednesday, June 5, at noon, or vote in person at the annual meeting between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. Drop-off ballots must be placed in the locked ballot boxes in DMEA's lobbies and cannot be accepted if placed in the payment boxes. The election will officially conclude at 5:30 p.m. when DMEA calls to order the business meeting portion of the event.

"I'm looking forward to bringing the membership another year of great news. Steady rates, the continued growth of Elevate Internet, and improved member outreach are all things worth celebrating. I'm also looking forward to hearing from our members, so please bring your questions and ideas forward during the Q&A. If you're not one for the spotlight, don’t worry, our leadership team, board members, and staff will be on hand to personally answer questions at any time," encouraged Johnston.

DMEA will provide a wide selection of tasty treats, all made right here in Montrose and Delta counties, such as charcuterie, pies, cookies, and cider tastings. There will also be local food trucks featuring tacos, ice cream, Thai food, and hot dogs. Food will be served from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. until the business meeting begins and available again after the meeting for members to enjoy. Other entertainment includes live music by Donny Morales, community booths, a photo booth, and kids' games and crafts.
