DMEA Appoints Sanchez as New District 4 Director
May 1, 2023 — At its April 25 regular meeting, DMEA’s Board of Directors appointed Emily Sanchez to fill the District 4 board seat recently vacated by Ken Watson, who resigned to pursue an out-of-state business opportunity. Sanchez was one of ten candidates who submitted interest in the open position. Sanchez’s appointment to DMEA’s nine-member board begins immediately, and her term will expire in 2025 when District 4 is up for election.
“I want to express my appreciation to all of our candidates. It was a talented pool of members and a testament to our engaged membership. We are confident she will bring a valuable perspective that will help DMEA continue meeting our members' diverse needs.,” said Board President Kyle Martinez.
Sanchez graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Colorado State University and has a diverse employment background spanning the non-profit, private, and governmental sectors. She currently serves as the Project Manager and Grant Coordinator for Montrose County. Her responsibilities include drafting and reviewing policies, contract administration, budgeting, and strategy execution.
