All News

May 9, 2022 – With three contested districts in DMEA’s 2022 Board of Directors Election, co-op members will have the responsibility of electing their board representatives this month. Mail-in ballots are set to arrive mid-month. Members are encouraged to attend the following events to meet the candidates prior to voting.

Meet the Candidates
5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Monday, May 16, at Camp Robber, Montrose
Wednesday, May 25, at Big B’s Delicious Orchard, Hwy 133

There is no formal presentation or debate. Instead, members can stop in and meet the candidates in person and ask questions between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. Light appetizers and refreshments will be provided while supplies last. Co-op members can also learn more about each candidate online at www.dmea.com/2022candidates.

Members can vote by returning their mail-in ballot. In order to be counted, mail-in ballots must be received by DMEA’s election partner, Survey and Ballot Systems, by June 14. Ballots can also be dropped off at either DMEA office using the locked ballots boxes inside the lobbies. As a reminder, ballots cannot be dropped off in payment drop boxes. Members can also cast their votes in person at the Annual Meeting.

DMEA’s election will conclude at the Annual Meeting on Thursday, June 16, at the Montrose Community Recreation Center, 16350 Woodgate Rd., Montrose, CO. Member registration and voting will take place from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m., and the election results will be announced during the business meeting.

The Annual Meeting will include fun for all ages, including swimming, climbing, basketball, the walking track, and pickleball. An early dinner, provided by Buckaroos Slices and Scoops and Blue Corn Cafe, will be served from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m., with the business meeting running from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. The real fun begins at 6:30 p.m. when members can enjoy a later dinner, play throughout the rec center, and satisfy their sweet tooth with dessert from Brrrnana and Rocking W Ice Cream. Admission to the rec center is free for DMEA members.
