2024 DMEA Board Candidates Announced

Elections open on May 3 with online voting, conclude at the Annual Meeting on June 6

April 16, 2024 – Six cooperative members will be on the upcoming ballot for DMEA’s 2024 Board of Directors Election.Three of the nine seats are up for election, and the candidates are as follows:

District 1

District 5

Kevin Williams, incumbent running unopposed

 

DMEA members will have an opportunity to meet the candidates at the upcoming Candidate Forums:

The election will open May 3, 2024, with both online and mail-in ballots. Starting May 3, all eligible voters will see a ‘Vote Now’ button in their secure SmartHub account. To access the electronic ballot, members must log in to their account, click the button, cast their vote, and submit.

Cooperative members with an email address registered to their DMEA account will also receive an email with a unique secure link. To access the ballot, members must click the link, enter the credentials provided in the email, and cast their vote.

Mail-in ballots will also be mailed on May 3. Members can cast their vote by completing and returning their ballot by mail or by bringing it to a local DMEA office and placing it in the secure ballot drop box in the lobby. The deadline to drop off ballots is Wednesday, June 5, at noon. In-person voting will occur at DMEA’s Annual Meeting on Thursday, June 6, at Columbine Middle School, 610 York Street, Montrose, from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m.

In addition to the elections, DMEA’s Annual Meeting will include a recap of the co-op’s accomplishments over the past year and a member question and answer session. The event opens at 4:30 p.m. and will feature a trove of local treasures, including food, community highlights, and entertainment. A short business meeting will take place from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. The free family fun begins at 4:30 and continues after the meeting, with tasty treats, music, booths, games, prizes, and kids’ activities.
