NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING OF DELTA-MONTROSE ELECTRIC ASSOCIATION (DMEA) TO CONSIDER: PURPA Section 111(d)(20) and (21) Standards Regarding Demand-Response Practices and EV Charging Programs and Request for Comments

You are hereby notified that DMEA will hold a public hearing at a special meeting of the Board of Directors to consider the PURPA Section 111(d)(20) and (21) standards regarding demand-response practices and electric vehicle charging programs (PURPA Standards).

PURPA Section 111(a) requires DMEA to (i) commence consideration of the PURPA Standards by November 15, 2022, (ii) hold a public hearing to consider the PURPA Standards, (iii) following such hearing, make a written determination as to whether to follow such PURPA Standards, and (iv) publish the results to the public.

At its September 22, 2022, regular meeting of the Board of Directors, DMEA confirmed it had commenced consideration of the PURPA Standards.

A hearing and possible action on a resolution decision regarding the PURPA Standards will be made at a special meeting of the DMEA Board of Directors to be held on Thursday November 9, 2023, at 2:45 p.m. at DMEA’s headquarters located at 11925 6300 Rd. Montrose, CO 81401 with the public hearing commencing at 3:30 p.m.

Written comments on the PURPA Standards may be submitted to DMEA via e-mail to amy.taylor@dmea.com, by mail to DMEA Attn: Amy Taylor 11925 6300 Rd., Montrose, CO 81401, or dropped off at the DMEA Read Service Center or Headquarters facility. Comments are due no later than Tuesday, November 7, 2023, by 5:00 p.m.

The public hearing shall include an opportunity for interested participants to provide oral comments on the PURPA Standards. Those interested in participating in the hearing must provide DMEA notice of intent to participate no later than November 7, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. Notice of intent to participate (either virtually or in-person) must be provided by contacting Amy Taylor (970-240-1212 or amy.taylor@dmea.com).
