Youth Leadership Information

 
Complete the form below to apply for DMEA's Youth Leadership Programs:

  • NRECA Rural Electric Youth Tour, Washington D.C. - June 17 - 23, 2024
  • CEEI Cooperative Youth Leadership Camp, Steamboat Springs, CO - July 13 - 18, 2024
To apply you must:
  • be between the ages of 16 and 18 at the time of the programs, but not yet have graduated from high school;
  • be a dependent of a DMEA member (your parents/guardians are DMEA members);
  • submit a completed application AND the 500-word essay (details included below).
Essay instructions: 
Think about your current school and identify something you'd like to change or a problem you'd like to solve. It can be a scheduling fix, waste issue, or ethical dilemma - anything that is of importance to you. Explain the issue, why it is significant to you, and identify your solution.

Selection information:
DMEA's selection committee with select one top student to attend the NRECA Rural Electric Youth Tour and up to three additional students to attend the CEEI Cooperative Youth Leadership Camp. If selected, you will be notified in early January.
